Create a Career from Just One Book?

People are always asking me, “Can I really create an entire career from just one book?”

My answer is, “It depends.”

If you want to write a book and then expect your publisher to send you on a worldwide tour, where you hold book signings at large bookstores all over the planet, and sell millions of copies of your book, then probably not. More than likely, this won’t happen. So, if that’s the way you’re expecting to create an entire career – and become rich and famous – from just one book, you’re going to be disappointed.

On the other hand, if you intend to write just one book and then create additional products and services AROUND this book, then you surely CAN create an entire career from your book. And many times, those additional products are little more than a repackaging of your book. For example, you can create shorter e-books that elaborate some of the main points of your original book.

You can also set up teleclasses or e-courses that provide participants with more in-depth information from your book.

You can also develop a radio show around your book. You make money from the advertisers you acquire for your show. The show also helps you promote your book and the other products and services you create around the book.

Of course, once you’re a published author, you can also become a much sought after speaker, which will provide you with additional revenue streams that weren’t even possible without your book.

So – Can you create a career around just one book?

Absolutely.

But you have to write that one book!

Better get started.
